Replacing the Rose Arch.

The rose arch that leads through into the blue border has finally collapsed after 20 years ( nothing last very long these days!)

It is covered with The Climbing rose Goldfinch and the vine Spetchley Red.

It was a cheap metal affair, so has done well to last this long.

I have designed a wooden one to tie in with the blue rope swags already in the Blue Border.

The rose and the vine cut back ready for building the new one.

Painted Iris blue to match the colour scheme in the Blue Border.

I have designed it to match the other arches in the garden they are based on a Japanese gate called Hachiman torii.

The finished arch with some blue rope rose supports in place. I look forward to the Rose Goldfinch covering it again.
