Fig leaf Holly Hocks are my choice, in August, for plant of the month in our garden@19.
I love the delicate colours of this one. The seed was sent to me probably two years ago by Gill Heavens after admiring pictures of them on her blog. This is their first flowering.
Do you have an August favourite?
Such a lovely pink colour. It’s nigh impossible for me to pick an August favorite, I love the all!

It is a lovely holly hock. I’ve not grown them before, and admire the way you have photographed it with great back light. Here is my favourite: https://noellemace.blogspot.com/2019/08/plant-of-month.html

I love Hollyhocks and this region has them on all the postcards, This year mine have been poor, stunted, shadows of their former selves. The lack of rain has stunted and destroyed them. I have a few that are near areas that I water. Amelia

That shows the intensity of the heat you experienced if tough hollyhocks were destroyed.

Exactly. I “rehoused” 17 self seeded Hollyhock plants in December thinking I would have a marvellous show but not all have even survived. Your Honesty has taken and I am looking forward to it spreading.

August favorite? I don’t know. There is too much, and I see even more in pictures from other people’s gardens.
