Capturing Autumn: A Garden Photo Collection

This year has been challenging for the garden open days, both due to personal reasons and unpredictable weather. Family and friends have been very supportive, resulting in a record amount raised for the National Garden Scheme charity.

Building on this success, the open dates for next year are booked, with the local British Legion charity helping and sharing the proceeds from the refreshments.

To capture this season’s progress, I have created an autumn collection of photos of the garden.

Annuals.

Blue Border.

Fruit.

Oriental Garden.

Pelargoniums in the greenhouse.

Additional general pictures.

Teas and book sales.

End of the day.

Enjoy your garden for the rest of this year, relax and look forward planning for next year.

  1. How lovely to know that you have supportive family and friends, Brian, to help you at your open garden and well done for your record amount raised! 👍Opening will have given you something positive to aim for – how many years have you been opening for now? I hope the support is maintained in this run up to Christmas, which will be a sad time for you

    1. Thank you Cathy,
This year was our 11th year of opening. I am fortunate that my family live quite close and the village is very supportive with lots of friends within it. Also the many friends that I have within the Gardening Club. The garden does provide solace and comfort.

      1. And next year will be our 10th!! It must e lovely to have your family close by and to have a supportive village too. We rely on friends for our openings to keep us free to mingle, and fortunately they get pleasure from it too

      2. Whoohoo! 😀This last year was the first time we didn’t have the traditional 3 course hotel meal when we met up for presentations and to collect publicity stuff, as numbers had dropped off so much in recent years. We just had an afternoon tea, with cakes and sandwiches provided by the county organisers instead, which worked just as well
